JUDICIAL EDUCATION INSTITUTE OF TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

Introduction to the JEITT

Continuous judicial education is essential for the Judiciary to fulfill its mandate to the public and its stakeholders to deliver justice in an effective and efficient manner, while sustaining public trust and confidence. It is out of this necessity that the Judicial Education Institute of Trinidad and Tobago (JEITT) was created – a distinct but integral part of the Judiciary, committed to the establishment’s core objective: the administration and achievement of justice.

Training Reviews

‘I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this training session. The food was delicious. The presenters were knowledgeable and held my attention for the duration of each session. The sessions were interactive and this helped me to appreciate in a real way, how I could incorporate what was discussed in my everyday management of Court. Justice Lucky was superb, informative, innovative, and instructive. From her extempore musical interlude to the real-life examples she gave us, I am truly grateful I got this opportunity to attend because I learned so much. Kudos to the entire team at the JEI this was another awesome presentation!’

The Hon. Mme. Justice Nalini Singh

‘As an educator, I recognise and appreciate excellent training by great facilitators with the support of a great team, all of which this training possessed. The enthusiastic, dynamic, interactive nature of the presentations kept my attention throughout. The instructors were not only highly qualified to deliver training like this but they were complimentary to one another, accommodating different learning styles. The content was in-depth but not too dense, which not only exposed me to the various perspectives but ensured that I left the training still thinking. Very well done and I look forward to more such training sessions by the JEITT.’

The Hon. Mr. Justice Westmin James

‘I found the course to be very informative and thought-provoking. There was a good balance between the theoretical and the practical. I came away with a better sense of what is entailed in being a competent judicial officer. A lot of participation was encouraged which promoted the relevance of the content to real life and made the session enjoyable.’

The Hon. Mme. Justice Gillian Scotland

This was a thoroughly engaging and entertaining session hosted by a knowledgeable and down-to-earth team. Kudos on an excellent job all around!’
